‘David Byrne’s American Utopia’ Confirms Final Extension For Broadway Run

Each performance finds the Talking Heads frontman leading a talented ensemble through a career-spanning setlist.

David Byrne‘s American Utopia‘s run at the St. James Theatre on Broadway has been extended for the last time. The New York City venue will host performances of the musical through Sunday, April 3.

American Utopia returned to Broadway last September after an initial run in 2019 at the Hudson Theatre. The musical was supposed to come back in 2020 but the date was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. David Byrne’s American Utopia features the Talking Heads frontman performing songs from throughout his illustrious career. Byrne is accompanied at most shows by a band consisting of Jacquelene Acevedo, Gustavo Di Dalva, Daniel Freedman, Chris Giarmo, Tim Keiper, Tendayi Kuumba, Karl Mansfield, Mauro Refosco, Stéphane San Juan, Angie Swan and Bobby Wooten III.
