Dave Schools & Duane Trucks Join Todd Snider In Atlanta

On Saturday night, singer-songwriter Todd Snider held a concert at the City Winery in Atlanta. Those in attendance were treated to the surprise addition of bassist Dave Schools and drummer Duane Trucks.

The Widespread Panic rhythm section that pulls the same duty with Snider in Hard Working Americans backed the guitarist for the entire evening’s performance. The show mixed some HWA tunes like “Roman Candles” with some covers such as “Johnny B. Goode” and “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys,” along with unrehearsed Snider originals including “Play A Train Song” and “Statistician’s Blues.”

“Figuring out what chords to play is easy,” Snider reportedly told the audience. “The beginning, the middle and end of the song is what [we] haven’t practiced or rehearsed.”
