Healthcare workers Lauren and Shari requested “Tripping Billies,” a song that dates back to DMB’s early days and was released on the group’s 1996 studio album, Crash. Lauren and Shari are from Westchester County, New York leading Dave to share memories of a period spent growing up in the area. Matthews then played “Tripping Billies” solo for the first time since May 12, 2006 as per DMB Almanac.

Longtime friends and DMB listeners Jodi, Mary, Cat and Amie requested “Ants Marching,” another classic from the group’s start. “We would like to request ‘Ants Marching’ as homage to the early days of our enduring friendship as well as the early days of your music,” Amie said. “And as a reminder that we’re never too old to play under the table and dream,” added Mary.
Matthews thanked the fans for their “very involved request” and noted, “I will do my best to honor your request.” Here’s the resulting “Ants Marching”:
