SiriusXM shared video of Dave Matthews debuting a solo acoustic renditon of “Rooftop.” The clip comes as part of Matthews’ Live From Home: By Request series.
The “Rooftop” request came in from John Thurman Jr. who mentioned that he met Dave when Matthews performed at the West Point Military Academy with Tim Reynolds. Thurman also discussed his reason for requesting “Rooftop” — which appears on Dave Matthews Band’s 2012 LP Away From The World — revealing that as a resident physician in training he would head up to the rooftop to clear his mind during trying times.
