Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Offer Tour Debuts At First Of Two In Chicago

By Jeffrey Greenblatt Jun 11, 2017 9:56 am PDT

After a few nights off Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds headed into the homestretch of their lengthy North American tour by pulling into Chicago, for a pair of shows at the Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island. The duo relied on tour staples throughout their 26-song show, while also offering up a trio of tour debuts.

Dave and Time kicked things off “Lie In Our Graves,” which was the first time they had opened a show with the Crash track since September of 2007. The pair next sandwiched the Dave Matthews solo track “Save Me” from his 2003 albm Some Devil between a pair of old-school DMB classics “Satellite” and “What Would You Say.” Later in the set the guitarists offered up the tour debuts of “Dive In” and “Proudest Monkey,” which was last played by the duo back in 2014.

The rest of the pair’s main set included fan-favorites like “Warehouse,” “Stay Or Leave,” “So Damn Lucky,” “Don’t Drink The Water” and “Two Step.” Tim Reynolds also offered up a version of “Che,” during one of his solo spots last night for the first time at a Dave and Tim show since January of 2015. The guitarists closed out the night with a three-song encore that included “Why I Am,” “The Song That Jane Likes” and “Jimi Thing.”
