Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds brought out recent Grammy Award winner Molly Tuttle for an extended collaboration on Sunday in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The five-song guest appearance came at Moon Palace Cancún in Riviera Maya, Mexico during Matthews and Reynolds’ third and final performance of their sixth annual destination event.
The pair’s Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Riviera Maya 2023 event began on Friday, February 17 with a show that included the live debut of “Monsters” from the forthcoming Dave Matthews Band album, Walk Around The Moon. Matthews and Reynolds also offered their first duo take on “Madman’s Eyes” off the LP and dug into their live repertoire for a cover of Neil Young’s “Hey Hey, My My” — which was last played in 2019 — and the return of long-lost original “Busted Stuff.” The latter previously saw action at a Dave and Tim show in 2003 and at a DMB show in 2010. Meanwhile, the big surprise on Saturday, February 18 was the duo’s debut cover of Led Zeppelin’s “D’yer Mak’er.”

Dave Matthews emerged to start Sunday’s finale with his first solo performance of Walk Around The Moon cut “Break Free.” The ensuing “Sweet” was also performed solo before Reynolds came out for the rest of the evening. Matthews and Reynolds went heavy on beloved classics including “Typical Situation,” “Jimi Thing,” “Granny,” “Minarets” and “Tripping Billies.”
Tim Reynolds had a turn in the spotlight for solo performances of original instrumentals “A Tangled Web We Weave” and “Stream.” Reynolds worked “Stream” into a bit of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir.” Matthews then returned to the stage along with Molly Tuttle for “Grace Is Gone” off 2002’s Busted Stuff. The singer-songwriter performed a set at Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Riviera Maya 2022. Matthews noted that was the first time he met her and when he learned Molly was in town he invited her to guest at this year’s event.
Tuttle stuck around to accompany the duo on the Dave & Tim debut cover of Bob Dylan’s “Oh, Sister” and John Prine’s “Speed Of The Sound Of Loneliness.” Molly Tuttle then led Matthews and Reynolds through her own “Yosemite” and contributed to the set-closing “Ants Marching.”
Dave Matthews delivered a solo version of the title track from his 2003 solo album, Some Devil, to get Sunday’s encore underway. Tim Reynolds then returned to accompany Matthews on the “Two Step” that ended the concert and destination event.
