Dave Matthews Band picked their July 16, 2024 concert at BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire, for Live Trax Vol. 69. The latest in the recent Rock Hall inductees’ live archival series is due out on April 25.
Dave Matthews Band’s July 16 concert was the first of two at BankNH Pavilion last summer. Despite an hour-plus weather delay, DMB delivered a “clean and tight” show, as per the group’s official website.

Dave Matthews Band brought their summer tour to Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, NH on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024. Running through songs from just about every era of DMB, they keep it clean and tight with standards like “Best Of What’s Around” and rarities like “Spoon” and “Busted Stuff,” as well as a blistering “Last Stop” and beautifully intimate version of Eddie Vedder’s “Breathe.” This recording captures the energy of a band firing on all cylinders.
Also of note, the 2024 BankNH Pavilion run saw the band experimenting with openers. July 16 kicked off with the first “JTR” opener since October 13, 2021, according to DMBAlmanac stats (the next night in Gilford saw the band getting things underway with a historical closer, “Ants Marching”).
The concert also saw DMB breaking out “Sugar Will.” The unreleased song was debuted in 2004. The band played it heavily that year only to drop it completely in 2005. “Sugar Will” has seen modest resurgences over the years but has been something of a rarity. The BankNH version marked the first played since September 18, 2021 for a gap of 233 shows.
The aforementioned cover of Pearl Jam’s “Just Breathe,” saw Dave Matthews going solo to begin the encore. The band — drummer Carter Beauford, bassist Stefan Lessard, guitarist Tim Reynolds, trumpeter Rashawn Ross, saxophonist Dave Coffin and keyboardist Buddy Strong — returned to conclude the concert with “Grey Street.”
