Dave Matthews Band Busts Out ‘If Only’ In Charlotte
DMB unshelved "If Only" for the first time in nearly five years.
Dave Matthews Band performed at PNC Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday after returning to the stage for the first time in 510 days on Friday in Raleigh. DMB would bust out “If Only” for the first time in nearly five years.
Dave Matthews and company kicked off the set with “Seek Up” followed by “When The World Ends,” last time played by DMB on June 7, 2018, as per DMB Almanac. Dave would tease “Proudest Monkey” ahead of classics like “Satellite,” “So Much To Say” and “Too Much.”
The show also saw the newly debuted tune, “Walk Around The Moon,” which Dave unveiled in Raleigh. The middle part of the set featured performances of “You and Me,” “You Never Know” “Where Are You Going” and a pairing of “Squirm” and “Funny The Way It Is.”
“If Only” came as the 15th song of the set. The tune appears on the 2012 DMB album Away From The World. While Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds last performed the song on June 8, 2017, the last DMB performance came on August 27, 2016, as per DMB Almanac. “Seven,” “The Space Between” and “Rooftop” followed ahead of set closer, “Tripping Billies.”
Dave got the encore going with a solo rendition of another relatively new song, “Singing From The Windows,” which he unveiled on March 26, 2020 during one of his livestreamed home performances. A pairing of “Don’t Drink The Water” and “Shake Me Like A Monkey” brought the evening to a close.
