Cover Alert | Todd Snider Covers Fire On The Mountain

Singer-songwriter Todd Snider recently performed at Sweetwater in Mill Valley, California and encored with a beautiful acoustic rendition of “Fire On The Mountain.” Snider eschews the song’s familiar reggae framework in favor of a more straight-forward version that lets his stunning voice do the heavy lifting.

Todd stopped just as he approached the final portion of “Fire” to say, “I’m sure that those of you that come to this place a lot end up hearing a lot of people sing Grateful Dead songs. I don’t normally do it…and I hope you can understand it’s impossible not to come hear to play and not to want to show respect for Bob Weir and the Grateful Dead and what they have done.” Snider then went on to complete his gorgeous cover of “Fire On The Mountain.” You’ll note that Weir is a co-owner of Sweetwater Music Hall.
