Cover Alert | Jack White Covers Beck’s Devil’s Haircut

Rocker Jack White kicked off a two-night stand at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium last night, where he had a surprise in store for the crowd during a lengthy encore. White and his band worked portions of Beck’s 1996 smash “Devil’s Haircut” within the Blunderbuss track “Sixteen Saltines” two songs before the show ended.

The surprise tribute came less than a month after Beck and Jack White shared the stage as part of Hansen’s show in Providence. Other connections abound as White recorded “I’m Down” for Beck’s Song Reader album and Beck released a single through Jack’s Third Man Records imprint.
