With their inherent brooding sadness it’s kind of surprising that it’s taken this long for a country-leaning act to realize that The National’s songs were begging to be given a classic country makeover, complete with pedal steel and some down-home Southern charm. Luckily the sheer obviousness of this wasn’t wasted on Caitlin Rose. Yesterday the Nashville, TN-based singer-songwriter released a gorgeous take on “Pink Rabbits” -a deep cut from the Brooklyn band’s latest studio effort, Trouble Will Find Me.

Caitlin Rose, who released her highly-recommended sophomore album, The Stand-In, earlier this year, will mix headlining shows with support dates for Dawes, Langhorne Slim & The Law and Leon Russell this fall.
