Guitarist Neal Casal created music to accompany Justin Kreutzmann’ visuals for the intermissions of the Fare Thee Well – Celebrating 50 Years Of Grateful Dead concerts in 2015. After fan response was through the roof, Casal issued an album featuring some of the material he composed under the moniker Circles Around The Sun. The band made its live debut at last year’s Lockn’ Festival and then played a handful of shows in November. Circles Around The Sun will return to the stage this June.

So far two upcoming Circles Around The Sun concerts have been confirmed and they will be the first to take place outside of the East Coast. Casal, drummer Mark Levy, keyboardist Adam MacDougall and bassist Dan Horne will play the Ogden Theatre in Denver on June 8. Neal will then bring CATS to The Boulder Theater on June 9. Here’s hoping more shows for the quartet are in the works.
