Cindy Blackman Santana Recruits Carlos Santana & Snoop Dogg For ‘The Message Is Love’

Drummer Cindy Blackman Santana shared a new single, “The Message Is Love,” featuring her husband, guitar great Carlos Santana, and a spoken word intro by hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg. The track is set to land on Blackman Santana’s upcoming album, Coherence, arriving on July 31 via Mack Avenue Records.

Along with Snoop and Carlos, Coherence features assists from John McLaughlin, Matt Garrison, Ray Angry and Dave Eggar.

“Coherence is about everything in creation coming together. We come from the creator. In these times, we need unity,” Cindy said of Coherence. “We need to understand that we are not different… the core of every single human being is light.”

The latest Coherence single, “The Message Is Love,” sees Blackman Santana teaming back up with Snoop Dogg following their collaboration on a cover of Phil Collins‘ “In the Air Tonight” for ESPN’s Monday Night Football. The track also sees fiery jazz guitar from Cindy’s husband Carlos Santana.

“‘The Message Is Love’ is about evoking that feeling,” Cindy stated. “The greatest thing you can feel is the energy, appreciation, and the act of just love for love’s sake. Not for any agenda, just because it’s beautiful, and that’s what the creator is: complete love. Love for love’s sake, no other reason. That’s where the title came from and where the energy of the song comes from.”
