Chuck Leavell Performs Live At Paste
By Scott Bernstein Jul 31, 2019 • 11:09 am PDT

Chuck Leavell took advantage of an off-day on The Rolling Stones‘ schedule to perform a session at Paste Studios in New York City on Tuesday. The Rolling Stones’ keyboardist and musical director played three songs over the course of his set.
Leavell opened with his take on The Rolling Stones’ classic “Tumbling Dice.” He then looked to his days in the legendary southern rock outfit Sea Level for “Living A Dream.” Chuck finished with a gem he often played during his tenure in The Allman Brothers Band, “Statesboro Blues.” The keyboardist offered an interesting interpretation of the song originally written by Blind Willie McTell.
