moe. shared pro-shot video of the Elvis Presley-popularized “Blue Christmas.” The performance took place during the band’s recent two-night stand at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York.

Written by Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson, “Blue Christmas” was first recorded by Doye O’Dell in 1948. Elvis Presely subsequently recorded the song for his 1957 record, Elvis’ Christmas Album. moe. included “Blue Christmas” on their 2002 album, Seasons Greetings From moe.

moe. peppered in a number of songs from Seasons Greetings throughout their two-night stand at The Capitol Theatre including “Together at Christmas,” “We’re a Couple of Misfits” and “Oh Hanukah.” “Blue Christmas” kicked off the encore on the final night, December 9. Chuck Garvey sang lead on a swinging version of the holiday classic, a great moment as the last time moe. performed the song was at The Capitol Theatre in 2021 during an emotional, guest-filled run without Garvey as the guitarist had recenly suffered a stroke.
