Chromeo shared a new single, “(I Don’t Need A) New Girl.” The track is the latest in a string of singles the Canadian electrofunk duo have released in 2023.
Chromeo’s David “Dave 1” Macklovitch and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel released their first official single since 2018, “Words With You,” in March. The duo followed with “Replacements” in April along with news of their first headline tour in four years.

It’s been five years since Chromeo’s last studio album, 2018’s Head Over Heels. A press release did note, however, that fans can expect a “very special announcement in the fall” to coincide with their Funk Yourself Tour.
Chromeo’s latest single, “(I Don’t Need A) New Girl,” is a smooth track that boasts a bit of a bite with its slap-style bassline. The track — mixed by renowned producer Morgan Geist — also features an extended instrumental outro laced with disco strings.
