Chris Robinson Brotherhood Debuts ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ Cover In Eureka

By Scott Bernstein Apr 21, 2016 2:34 pm PDT

On Tuesday, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood brought their current tour to the Eureka Theater in Eureka, California for a headlining performance. The CRB has been debuting plenty of material, both covers and originals, over the course of the spring and that trend continued in Eureka.

Within Tuesday night’s second set Chris Robinson and his band debuted an original called “Forever As The Moon” that joins a batch of other new CRB songs unveiled over the past week that includes “Leave My Guitar Alone,” “Precious Precious,” “Narcissus Soaking Wet” and “California Hymn.” The CRB is expected to release a new studio album in July titled Anyway You Love, We Know How You Feel according to a recent interview with Chris, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the newly debuted songs on the LP.

Robinson and his mates called an audible at the end of Tuesday’s second set by inserting the CRB debut cover of Steppenwolf’s “Magic Carpet Ride” within “Rosalee.” Chris sang the song during his all-star soul revue set at the inaugural Fool’s Paradise event in St. Augustine, Florida earlier this month.
