Philadelphia-based Chris Forsyth & the Solar Motel Band shared a compilation of live and studio covers, which were previously unavailable digitally, via Bandcamp. Proceeds from today’s sales of the compilation on Bandcamp, which is waiving its fees today, will go toward Black Lives Matter Philly, The People’s Paper Co-Op and Philadelphia Bail Fund.

The four-song set contains December 2014 studio recordings of Jack Rose’s “Woodpiles On The Side Of The Road” and Captain Beefheart’s “Alice In Blunderland,” which were issued as a limited edition 7-inch in 2016, and Steve Wynn’s “When You Smile,” which was part of a 2016 Aquarium Drunkard Lagniappe Session. The compilation also features a previously unreleased performance of Neil Young’s “Barstool Blues” at Cafe Oto in London on February 27, 2018.

Forsyth is selling two t-shirts (here and here) with proceeds from sales today going to the same organizations above. A message accompanying the release stated, “Please help support these organizations doing difficult, important, and just work. Black Lives Matter.”
