Stream Chris Cornell’s Last Studio Album ‘No One Sings Like You Anymore’

The family of late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell today released No One Sings Like You Anymore, a surprise album of covers, on behalf of the Chris Cornell Estate. No One Sings Like You Anymore was the last album Cornell fully completed before his death by suicide in 2017.

Chris Cornell handpicked the 10 covers featured on No One Sings Like You Anymore, which takes its name from a lyric in the Soundgarden classic “Black Hole Sun.” The LP includes the vocalist’s cover of Guns N’ Roses’ “Patience,” which was originally released in July. Cornell also tracked Electric Light Orchestra’s “Showdown,” Harry Nilsson’s “Jump Into The Fire,” a new version of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” the Janis Joplin-popularized “Get It While You Can” and more.

Cornell recorded No One Sings Like You Anymore in 2016 with producer Brendan O’Brien following a tour in support of his 2015 solo album, Higher Truth. “This album is so special because it is a complete work of art that Chris created from start to finish,” explained his widow, Vicky Cornell, in a statement via Seattle Times. “His choice of covers provides a personal look into his favorite artists and the songs that touched him. He couldn’t wait to release it. This moment is bittersweet because he should be here doing it himself, but it is with both heartache and joy that we share this special album.”

“When my dad was making this album it was so fun — I remember waking up in the morning, having breakfast with him and going with him into the studio,” Chris’ daughter, Toni Cornell, added. “We would take our piano lessons there, and Christopher [Cornell’s son] would play video games with Brendan and my dad. We got to experience so much with him and have so many amazing memories. I’m really happy to be sharing this album. We love you, daddy.”
