Chic Featuring Nile Rodgers Replaces D’Angelo At Outside Lands

A medical issue will prevent D’Angelo from performing at this weekend’s Outside Lands this Friday. Event organizers have tapped Chic featuring Nile Rodgers to replace D’Angelo in closing out the Sutro Stage. Chic is known for their many hits in the Disco Era including “Good Times,” “Le Freak” and “I Want Your Love.”

“We hope that D’Angelo has a speedy recovery, and we are grateful to Nile Rodgers and CHIC for stepping in at this late hour,” says Allen Scott of Another Planet Entertainment in a statement. “CHIC is still one of the greatest live bands around and I can guarantee that they are going to bring the party to Outside Lands on Friday.”

The 2013 Outside Lands festival takes place from Friday to Sunday in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
