Innit Recordings released “Lucifer,” one of the final songs recorded by the late Charles Bradley. Bradley died in 2017 at the age of 68 after battling stomach cancer.

Bradley was undergoing treatment for cancer in late-2016 when he entered the home recording studio of producer James Levy in Queens, New York. The session became Bradley’s last, resulting in the spontaneous “Lucifer” and the previously shared “Lonely As You Are,” the latter of which Levy and co-producer Paul Defiglia enlisted Seth Avett and Mike Marsh of The Avett Brothers to complete.

“Charles knew what he wanted to say and he said it quickly,” said Levy. “He wore his heart on his sleeve. A true singer.”
