Goose and The Flaming Lips sit atop the Cathead Jam 2023 lineup. The festival takes place at Cathead Distillery in Jackson, Mississippi June 2 and 3.

Host Cathead Distillery is the oldest legal distillery in the state of Mississippi. Also set to perform at the festival is Cimafunk, who will play ahead of Goose’s two sets on Friday, June 2. Saturday, June 3 will see slots from Shakey Graves, Larkin Poe, The Band Of Heathens and Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country. The Lips close out the fest.

The 2023 iteration of Cathead Jam marks the first in three years. The event sees the festival giving back by donating all proceeds from the festival to Dreamnote — a nonprofit founded by Cathead owners Richard Patrick and Austin Evans along with partners Arden Barnett and Matthew McLaughlin.

“It’s exciting that Cathead Jam is back and that this year there’s a mission behind it. The Cathead team has created a music festival for our capital city, and now they’ve decided to give all proceeds to an important cause,” Dreamnote Board Member Lauren Engle said. “Dream Note was founded by four music lovers and business leaders committed to Mississippi, and this foundation is going to ensure more kids in Mississippi have access to music programs. That’s something everyone can get behind.”
