Cass McCombs released a new single entitled “Karaoke.” The track appears on the forthcoming studio album, Heartmind, which will be released on ANTI- Records on August 19.

McCombs previously released the Heartmind songs “Belong To Heaven” and “Unproud Warrior,” featuring Wynonna Judd and Charlie Burnham. Others who contributed to the eight-song follow-up to 2019’s Tip Of The Sphere included Judd’s husband, Cactus Moser, as well as Joe Russo, Kassa Overall, Danielle Haim, The Chapin Sisters, Frank LoCrasto and Nestor Gomez. The album was recorded in Brooklyn and Burbank, California with co-producers Shahzad Ismaily, Buddy Ross and Ariel Rechtshaid.

The Rechtshaid co-produced “Karaoke” features the chorus “You sang a melody, unchained // But will your love godspeed to me?,” which directly references the song “Unchained Melody” that the Righteous Brothers rode to fame. McCombs will tour North America in support of Heartmind beginning on September 7.
