Buddy Guy Covers Jimi Hendrix With Billy Cox & Experience Hendrix Band On ‘Kimmel Live’

Tuesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live featured a performance by Buddy Guy. The legendary guitarist covered Jimi Hendrix while backed by renowned bassist Billy Cox and the Experience Hendrix Band.

The collaborative appearance was in support of the recently issued Jimi Hendrix album of studio outtakes Both Sides Of The Sky. Cox can be heard on several tracks included on the archival collection while performing alongside Hendrix and drummer Buddy Miles as a member of Band Of Gypsys.

Guy and Cox have been honoring the legacy of Jimi Hendrix with the Experience Hendrix Tour. Backed by members of that tour’s house band, the pair of icons performed Hendrix’s “Red House” on Kimmel. Watch the tribute below:
