Bruce Springsteen has announced all shows on The River Tour will feature a complete performance of the 1980 album as well as other Springsteen favorites.
Legendary rockers Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band have announced 24 dates in support of The Ties That Bind: The River Collection, a deluxe edition of The Boss’s famed 1980 album The River. The tour spans 24 shows in 22 cities.
The tour begins less than a month after Bruce and the band appear on Saturday Night Live December 19. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band begin the tour at Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center on January 16 and are currently slated to end the tour with a two night stand at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena March 15 and 17. In between, the group will hit such cities as NYC, Washington, Albany, Hartford, Atlanta, Cleveland, Milwaukee and Phoenix.

Backstreets.com notes a press release lists the E Street Band’s members as Roy Bittan, Nils Lofgren, Patti Scialfa, Garry Tallent, Stevie Van Zandt, and Max Weinberg, with Soozie Tyrell, Jake Clemons, and Charlie Giordano; which may indeed indicate the size of the band has been downsized from the massive group that hit the road a few years back. Official recordings of each night will be available in a variety of formats within days of the performances.
General onsales commence one week from today, Friday, December 11.
