Brooklyn Comes Alive Announces 2017 Daily Lineups

The 2017 installment of Brooklyn Comes Alive will take place at three different venues in the Williamsburg neighborhood of New York City September 23 – 24. Organizers of the event have detailed the daily lineups for Brooklyn Comes Alive ’17 which includes unique supergroups, special tribute sets and collaborations.
BCA ’17 will feature sets at Brooklyn Bowl, Schimanski and Music Hall Of Williamsburg. Schimanski takes the place of previously announced venue The Hall At MP. Saturday’s action will include sets from The Road Goes On Forever: Celebrating The Music Of The Allman Brothers, Crystal Method, KJ Sawka, Muzzy Bear, DJ Premier & The Badder Band, Leslie Mendelson, Animus Rexx, DJ Logic & Friends, Dave Harrington’s Merry Pranksters, Roosevelt Collier’s Brooklyn Get Down and Brownie (DJ Set). The Allman Brothers tribute lineup has been expanded to include TTB multi-instrumentalist Kofi Burbridge and legendary drummer Bernard Purdie.
In addition, Rooster Conspiracy (Reed Mathis, Eric Krasno, Todd Stoops & Jay Lane) will play a Grateful Dead tribute, Midnight North will honor CSNY and Natalie Cressman will round up her musical friends. Other sets include a pairing of George Porter Jr., Skerik and Mike Dillon, Matador! Soul Sounds featuring Eddie Roberts, Alan Evans and more as well as Future Folklore featuring Luke Quaranta, Weedie Braimah and more and Bitch! Women Of The ’90s featuring Hayley Jane, Tim Palmieri and others.
Sunday’s sets will include Eric Krasno & Friends, moe.queous, Octave Cat, Metropolitan Jamgrass Alliance, Jennifer Hartswick & Friends, SunSquabi and The Russ Liquid Test. Tributes to Jamiroquai, Herbie Hancock and Green Day are also on tap, while Joel Cummins and Jon Cleary will perform solo piano sets. Cleary is additionally on board for a set with John Scofield. Joel will additionally play a set as part of a supergroup that also features Marc Brownstein, Aron Magner, Mike Greenfield and Ryan Jalbert.
George Porter Jr. has signed on for a trio set with Henry Butler and Johnny Vidacovich, while Skerik performs with Reed Mathis, Alan Evans, Wil Blades and Will Bernard. Finally, BCA ’17 will host Oktopus with special guest Hayley Jane and the Pow! Pow! Power Trio! of Rob Compa, Adrian Tramontano and Chuck Jones.
