Brittany Howard appeared as the musical guest on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Howard’s dazzling performance in support of her recently issued solo album, What Now, featured the album track, “Prove It To You.”
What Now is the Alabama Shakes frontwoman’s second solo album following her solo 2019 debut LP, Jaime. Currently residing in Nashville, Howard recorded What Now with co-producer and previous collaborator Shawn Everett at Nashville’s Sound Emporium and historic RCA Studio B.

Both the album and Howard’s Tonight Show performance saw her backed by her Alabama Shakes bandmate, bassist Zac Cockrell, as well as drummer Nate Smith, guitarist Brad Allen Williams and keyboardists Paul Horton and Lloyd Buchanan. The Tonight Show appearance also saw Howard accompanied by guitarist Alex Chakour and backing vocalists Shanay Johnson and Karita Simone Law.
