Bright Eyes Appears On ‘Live On KEXP At Home’

Bright Eyes made an appearance on the Live On KEXP At Home series. The band featuring Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott played songs from their 2020 album, Down In The Weeds, Where The World Once Was along with some Bright Eyes classics for the Seattle radio station.

The appearance kicks off with Oberst, Walcott and Mogis chatting with host Cheryl Waters about the new record including a hilarious story about Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, before getting into a pre-recorded performance of “Cleanse Song” from the band’s landmark 2007 album, Casadaga.

Next up, Bright Eyes took it back even further with “From A Balance Beam” off of 2002’s Lifted or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground. Bright Eyes closed out the session with material from Down In The Weeds — their first album in nearly a decade — with “Mariana Trench” and “Persona Non Grata.”
