Earlier this month, AC/DC announced the cancellation and rescheduling of 10 upcoming concerts on their Rock Or Bust World Tour after doctors advised lead vocalist Brian Johnson to immediately stop touring or risk complete loss of hearing. Comedian Jim Breuer, a longtime friend of the singer, shared some thoughts from Johnson on his The Metal In Me podcast in which Johnson said he’s been “kicked to the curb” by group leader Angus Young.

Breuer visited with Johnson and reported the singer is “really depressed.” Jim shared Brian’s side of the story after meeting with the vocalist at his home in Florida as per a report from Ultimate Classic Rock. According to Breuer, Brian Johnson received a second opinion on his diagnosis which revealed the hearing damage wasn’t as bad as he was led to believe from the initial diagnosis. AC/DC made their decision despite the second opinion and the band sent all of the luggage he toured with to Johnson’s home. Breuer also revealed Brian didn’t receive a call from anyone in the band.

AC/DC plans to resume the tour with guest vocalists. Breuer said Johnson thinks “they’ve already lineup a replacement for what he described as a ‘karaoke guest stars’ series of events. Brian also told the comedian he feels Young and the band will continue AC/DC without him for a future tour and album.
