Brandi Carlile Performs 2 Songs For ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’

Singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile recently issued By The Way, I Forgive You, a new studio album produced by Dave Cobb. Last night, Carlile and a version of her band featuring a string section teamed up to perform two songs off the LP for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The Americana vocalist led the ensemble through “The Joke,” one of the singles off By The Way, I Forgive You, for last night’s television episode. Carlile & Co. also recorded a version of the album’s contemplative “Whatever You Do” as a web exclusive for The Late Show. By The Way, I Forgive You features string arrangements put together and conducted by the late Paul Buckmaster. The arrangements were on display during Brandi’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert performances.
