Boston Red Sox Announce Grateful Dead Tribute Night 2016

On September 21, Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox hosted a special Grateful Dead Tribute Night in honor of the band’s 50th anniversary. The Red Sox were one of a handful of MLB teams that also included the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals to present such a night. Apparently Grateful Dead Night was a success as the Red Sox will host another one in 2016.
The Red Sox Grateful Dead Night 2016 will take place Thursday, April 28; when the team takes on the Atlanta Braves. Tickets are available for purchase here. Those purchasing tickets will be entitled to a specially designed Grateful Dead t- shirt. Last year’s t-shirt can be viewed above. A special pregame concert devoted to the music of the Dead will take place on Yawkey Way before the game. Boston locals Fennario played a pre-game concert before this past September’s Grateful Dead Night at Fenway Park.
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Rex Foundation, the official charity of the Grateful Dead. A VIP pregame party to benefit Rex Foundation will be held at the House Of Blues.
