Bootsy Collins Offers Musicians A Chance To Contribute To His New Album

Bootsy Collins, who celebrates his birthday today, has a new album on the way titled Funk Not Fight in association with Syncr and The Bootsy Collins Foundation. The legendary bassist is looking for emerging artists to add their music alongside his as well as groups like Lettuce, Buckethead and more for the compilation album.
Also contributing music to Funk Not Fight are Zapp, Triggy, Syleena Johnson, Tommy Davidson, Hi-Tek, Deanna Brown, G7, Michael Dyson, Steve Lacy and more. Bootsy has also partnered with The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, Apple, Spotify and Tudor Games with more partners to be announced.
“All money raised will go towards initiatives that are in need of financial support, that are dedicated to helping turn the tide of violence and unrest in our communities,” as per a press release. Collins added, “Funk Not Fight! Spreading Hope No Joke.”

In other Bootsy news, the funk legend launched his Apple Music radio show with guests Morris Day, Bruno Mars, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Flea and Sheila E for a special Birthday Bootsy Extravaganza episode along with an episode with Steve Lacy.
