Bonobo (Simon Green) detailed his eighth album, Distance In Static, which he’ll support with a North American tour featuring a brand new stage show this fall. The British musician, producer and DJ unveiled “Me And You,” the first taste of a record set for release on September 11 via Ninja Tune.

Green continues his long history of eclectic collaborations on the follow-up to 2022’s Fragments. The forthcoming 13-track LP includes collaborations with Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba, Nicole Miglis and Aanya Martin.

A truly global affair, Distance In Static was recorded during sessions held in Los Angeles, Tokyo, London and beyond, with lyrics appearing in English, Urdu and Japanese alongside Iranian samples and guzheng recordings. The bulk of the album was completed at Neil Young’s famed Broken Arrow Ranch.

“It’s quite a mental place,” Green remembered of the facility. “There’s this picture of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young all jamming there with their shirts off in their 20s, and it’s like you see the picture and then you look over and there’s the place and there’s the studio and there’s the tape machine. There’s something quite magical about it creatively.”

Simon Green will unveil a new Bonobo live show alongside the album designed by Pierre Claude (Air, Gesaffelstein, Phoenix & Caroline Polachek). The Distance In Static Live tour starts in North America this November and December. More dates are expected to be announced soon.

The EDM artist will debut the new live show beginning November 5 at Emo’s in Austin. The 21-date routing features stops in Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Oakland, Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto and Boston, among other cities. Bonobo concludes the run on December 5 at Brooklyn Paramount in New York City.

A presale starts Thursday, June 11 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, June 12. Find links to purchase, a full list of dates, an embed of “Me And You” and the tracklist for Distance In Static below.
