will go back to their original trio iteration for a five-show run in the Bay Area this April. Guitarist Bob Weir, drummer Jay Lane and bassist Don Was will perform at The Guild Theatre in Menlo Park, California on April 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8.

Not only are the shows a homecoming of sorts for the Bay Area resident, but Menlo Park has special meaning for Bob Weir. The Grateful Dead's first concert was held at Magoo’s Pizza Parlor in Menlo Park, California on May 5, 1965. Weir and bandmates Jerry Garcia, Ron “Pigpen” McKernan, Bill Kreutzmann and the soon-to-be-replaced (by Phil Lesh) Dana Morgan Jr. performed as The Warlocks that night just a few blocks from The Guild.

Bobby Weir performed at the recently refurbished 500-capacity venue twice late last year. The guitarist joined The Terrapin Family Band at The Guild in November and returned as Nathaniel Rateliff's guest on December 1.

Tickets for the residency go on sale tomorrow (Tuesday, January 31) at 12 p.m. PT. Find links to purchase and Bobby Weir’s full touring schedule below:
