Bob Weir & Wolf Bros Announce June 2021 Concerts In Colorado
Grateful Dead/Dead & Company guitarist Bob Weir will return to the road in June for a series of four outdoor concerts in Colorado. An expanded Bob Weir and Wolf Bros lineup begin the brief excursion at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado June 8 – 9 before heading to Vail for shows at Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater June 11 – 12. The performances in Vail are part of the GoPro Mountain Games.
Weir will be joined by bassist Don Was, drummer Jay Lane, pedal steel guitarist Greg Leisz, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and the Wolf Pack horn and strings in Colorado. The Wolf Pack consists of woodwind specialist Sheldon Brown, violinist Mads Tolling, trombonist Adam Theis, trumpeter Brian Switzer and cellist Alex Kelly.
“This is the right music, for the right time, at exactly the right place,” explained Tom Boyd, Director of the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater for the nonprofit Vail Valley Foundation, which also hosts the GoPro Mountain Games, of Weir’s performances. Bobby’s shows are the first of many 2021 GoPro Mountain Games music announcements. Look for more to be revealed on Thursday, June 10 with daytime musical acts to be announced soon as well.
Bobby has been performing a series of livestream concerts with the expanded Wolf Bros lineup at his TRI Studios facility in San Rafael, California dating back to New Year’s Eve. The most recent show took place this past Saturday night.
