Grateful Dead/Dead & Company guitarist Bob Weir is among the guests on the latest episode of Politics Of Truth, an Osiris Media podcast hosted by Bob Crawford of The Avett Brothers. Episode 23 of Politics Of Truth also features journalist Bob Costa of the Washington Post.

Weir started by discussing his life during the pandemic. Bobby was on the road with Wolf Bros when the pandemic forced an early end to the trio’s tour. The guitarist explained what he misses most about touring and how he’s keeping safe while working on current projects.

Bobby spoke of inhabiting characters when he performs and talked about how “Throwing Stones” may have been written nearly 40 years ago but it still fits the current landscape. He then discussed the conflict he feels when thinking about what California means to him. Next, Weir got into his thoughts on politics and whether he would ever run for office.

Other topics hit upon were how Weir learned “Me & Bobby McGee,” whether the guitarist keeps in touch with his Dead & Company band mates, what musical need Wolf Bros fills and what Bobby is listening to these days. Listen to Bob Weir’s appearance on Politics Of Truth below:
