Hear Bob Dylan & The Band Get Back To New York City On Previously Unreleased ‘Tom Thumb’s Blues’ From 1974 Concert At MSG

A previously unreleased version of Bob Dylan and The Band performing “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues” at Madison Square Garden arrived today. The track is the final preview of the upcoming box set, Bob Dylan – The 1974 Live Recordings, arriving September 20 via Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings.
Bob Dylan’s 1974 trek with his longtime collaborators The Band marked the former’s first tour in eight years. The 1974 Live Recordings documents the historic run which saw the iconic artist and group performing in arenas across North America.

The collection boasts every professionally recorded show, newly mixed from the original tape. 417 of the 431 tracks have never been heard before. The deluxe box set includes 27 discs, new liner notes by journalist Elizabeth Nelson and more.
The 1974 Live Recordings was previewed in July with a previously unreleased version of, “Forever Young”, captured in Seattle on February 9, 1974. The new, also previously unreleased, rendition of “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues” comes from familiar stomping grounds for Dylan, New York City, which is referenced in the song.
