Blackberry Smoke Announces New Album ‘Be Right Here’ & Shares Swampy ‘Dig A Hole’ Single

Blackberry Smoke will issue a new album, Be Right Here, on February 16, 2024 through Legged Records/Thirty Tigers. The Atlanta rockers previewed the record with the single, “Dig A Hole,” and also confirmed Fall 2023 tour dates.

Helmed by renowned producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), Blackberry Smoke captured Be Right Here at Cobb’s Georgia Mae recording facility in Savannah, Georgia and at Nashville’s storied RCA Studio A.

“We always track live together, but this time we had all our amps and drums and everything in the same room,” frontman Charlie Starr said of the recording process. “It’s just as natural and as real as possible. The last album was very raw too, but with this one I remember different times I would say, ‘I think we should redo that,’ and Dave was like, ‘No, leave it that way. That way it’s magical.’”

On the new single, “Dig A Hole,” Starr said, “We each have a finite amount of time on this earth, so you probably want to make the most of it. Eventually for all of us, they are going to dig a hole, so make it count.”

Blackberry Smoke’s fall tour dates get underway on September 7 in Omaha, Nebraska. The autumn trek will see the band in Bozeman (Montana), San Diego, Boulder (Colorado), Cincinnati and Orlando among other stops. The tour wraps in Blackberry Smoke’s hometown of Atlanta on November 24.
