The four original members of Black Sabbath will perform a final concert this summer at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, where the influential band formed in 1968. Billed as “Back To The Beginning – The Final Show,” the all-day event will take place on July 5 and feature additional performances by Metallica, Slayer, Pantera and many others.
Black Sabbath co-founders Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward will share the stage for the first time in 20 years. The “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert will feature a short Ozzy Osbourne solo set before he joins his bandmates for a final time.
“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning … time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Osbourne stated. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”
