Billy & The Kids presented two sets heavy on staples from the Grateful Dead’s famed Spring 1990 tour. Lalli filled the role of Branford Marsalis, who famously sat-in with the Grateful Dead on March 29, 1990 in Uniondale, New York for the first time. The Big Gigantic saxman contributed to a number of tunes including “Eyes Of The World” and “Estimated Prophet.” The band also worked a cover of “Gimme Some Lovin” into the second set and tackled “Quinn The Eskimo” as part of a double encore in Denver.

On May 5 Kreutzmann will release his memoir, Deal: My Three Decades of Drumming, Dreams and Drugs with The Grateful Dead, and will hit the road for a book tour in support of the tome. Next up for Billy & The Kids is a Dear Jerry pre-party in Washington, D.C. on May 13 as well as a performance at Dear Jerry in Columbia, Maryland on May 14.
