Guitarist Billy Strings unveiled “Everything’s The Same,” the third and final song from the forthcoming Home LP due out in advance of its release on September 27 via Rounder Records. Strings co-produced the 14-track follow-up to 2017’s Turmoil & Tinfoil with Glenn Brown and utilized his touring band of bassist Royal Masat, mandolinist Jarrod Walker and banjo wiz Billy Failing.
“It’s just a good, fast-burning bluegrass song, which is pretty much Jarrod’s forte,” Billy told Billboard of “Everything’s The Same” which he co-wrote with Walker. “I loved the song ever since I first started playing it.” Strings described “Everything’s The Same” as about “a guy on a rampage. He can’t be slowed down. He’ll steal the nickel off dead people’s eyes.” The song features Jerry Douglas on dobro. “That was a good hang with Jerry,” Strings noted to Billboard. “He played on two songs, and he really lights things up.”
