Blackberry Smoke released pro-shot video of a collaboration with Billy Strings at an empty Ryman Auditorium as the pandemic raged. BBS and Billy delivered a bluesy cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo” on September 23, 2020.

The Dead debuted “Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo” on July 16, 1972. During their performance at an empty Ryman in Nashville, Blackberry Smoke welcomed Billy for the GD classic, which saw Billy playing the guitar his grandfather made in prison.
