Fans attending last night’s Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot show at the Paramount in Huntington out on Long Island in New York had the thrill of a lifetime when Billy Joel made a surprise appearance with the tribute act. The Long Island legend sat-in on a series of three songs to the delight of the crowd with the band which is fronted by DelGuidice who plays acoustic guitar and sings in Billy’s touring ensemble.
Billy Joel came out in the middle of Big Shot’s set for a three-song mini set, noting “can you believe this!? I live right down the road!” Joel’s portion of the performance started with a pair of covers as he led Big Shot through a Joe Cocker-style “With A Little Help From My Friends” and The Rolling Stones’ “Honky Tonk Women.” He then gave fans what they wanted by fronting Big Shot on his own “You May Be Right.”
