Billy Joel Covers Led Zeppelin With Jason Bonham In Philadelphia

Billy Joel hit Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Friday night, where The Piano Man welcomed fellow rock ‘n’ roll royalty during his concert in the City Of Brotherly Love. About halfway through the set, Jason Bonham — son of the late great Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham — took the drum throne for a pair of Led Zeppelin classics.
The sit-in kicked off with “Whole Lotta Love,” which included a short but sweet drum solo from Bonham. They then jumped into the opening hits of “Good Times Bad Times,” a cover that turned the audience up another notch. Joel seemed to be having just as much fun, adding his voice to the opening track from Led Zeppelin’s debut LP.
Other highlights of the show included Joel taking a request from the crowd. According to Setlist.fm, “Just The Way You Are” made a strong showing but “Vienna” ultimately won out. Joel also busted out “Captain Jack,” which reportedly was last played in 2017. Billy closed out the night with “You May Be Right,” containing a verse of Zeppelin’s “Rock And Roll.”
