Earlier this month Lockn’ Festival organizers revealed Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann would lead a band dubbed “Bill Kreutzmann Locknstep Allstars” at next month’s festival to replace Bob Weir & RatDog and Furthur. Today, Rolling Stone has announced the members of Billy’s band.

Kreutzmann will be joined by a core band of guitarists Tom Hamilton and Steve Kimock, bassist Oteil Burbridge and keyboardist Aron Magner as well as special guests Taj Mahal, Keller Williams, Papa Mali, Col. Bruce Hampton and EOTO for at least portions of his Lockn’ performance.

“With Locknstep Allstars and whatever I lock or step into after this, we’re not trying to compete and we’re not trying to recreate,” Kreutzmann told Rolling Stone’s Benjy Eisen. “We have to do better than that. We have a duty to the music to play these songs for a new generation, but we also have a duty to include the new generation in the music-making process.”

Lockn’ 2014 takes place between September 4 and 7 at Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, VA featuring the likes of Phil Lesh & Friends, Wilco, The Allman Brothers Band, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Umphrey’s McGee. Tickets are available via the event’s website.
