Beirut Announces New Album and Tour

Zach Condon’s art-folk project Beirut will release the long awaited follow-up to 2011’s The Rip Tide with the release of the LP, No No No on September 11 via the 4AD record label. In addition to the album’s announcement, Beirut also revealed an extensive tour of North America and Europe in the coming months in support of the new record.

Recorded after Condon dealt with significant physical and mental health issues, No No No features band mates bassist Paul Collins and drummer Nick Petree. It was recorded in New York last winter during a two-week period that saw the city blanketed in by a snowy blizzard. The nine new tracks make up Beirut’s “most vibrant and spirited record to date.”

Condon and crew will head out on tour on June 19 in Woodstock, New York at the Bearsville Theater. They move on to Canada for two more June dates, and return north of the border for a lone July gig at the Pemberton Music Festival in British Columbia. A lone August date at the MusicFest NW in Portland, Oregon precedes a September run of shows in Europe. The band returns stateside to begin October for a performance in New York City at Radio City Music Hall before heading to the West Coast for the rest of the month. An East Coast tour in November rounds out the tour.
