Ask Sharon Jones Anything On Reddit Right Now

Soul singer extraordinaire and cancer survivor Sharon Jones is the latest musician to take part in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session. Jones is currently answering questions from fans and will do so until approximately 4 p.m. ET, so head over now if you’ve got a query for Ms. Jones.

One response of note Sharon has given thus far regards her performance with Phish at the band’s Festival 8 event in 2009. She was asked about her experience joining the Vermonters for Exile On Main Street and shared the following response, “It was fun, that’s all I can say. I had fun meeting Phish and realized I was older than all the guys in the band and I had never heard of them. It was truly amazing to see their music and the effect they have on the audience. That’s why I enjoyed doing it with Saundra Williams and Dave Guy, a Dapette and a Dap-Kings. We added some soulful flavor to it. That’s what they wanted.” When asked about a few members of her group leaving her employ to join The Roots onThe Tonight Show, Sharon shared “they’ve been replaced and that’s how it goes. But I’m really happy that they got a job in New York where they can be with their families. That’s a good opportunities for them. Other than that, I’m a little sad. I’m sad but I’m happy.”
