Coachella shared pro-shot video of Arcade Fire performing their new song “Unconditional I (Lookout Kid)” during an appearance at the festival on Friday in Indio, California. The tune is set to land on the Montreal-based rockers’ upcoming album, WE, due out on May 6 via Columbia Records.
Along with “Unconditional I (Lookout Kid),” Arcade Fire also opened their Coachella set — which was added last minute a day before the festival started — with WE songs “The Lightning I, II.” Part one saw a false start as frontman Win Butler made sure an audience member was okay.

The band also dipped into their early albums Funeral and Neon Bible and dedicated the title track to their landmark 2010 LP, The Suburbs, to Ukraine. The title track to their 2017 release, Everything Now, also included a shoutout to Coachella co-founder Paul Tollett as well as Pearl Jam.
Ahead of closing out the festival slot with favorite “Wake Up,” Butler noted they were playing a new song and got the crowd involved with a vocal part. Things then got emotional as Win had another false start on the tune saying, “It’s been a hard couple fucking years, I don’t know about you, but it’s been a hard couple fucking years.” Win then led the band through an uplifting performance of the yet-to-be-released WE track.
