Amy Helm Shares ‘Carry It Alone’ Acoustic Video
Singer-songwriter Amy Helm posted video featuring an acoustic performance of “Carry It Alone.” The track is one of 10 that appears on Amy’s forthcoming What The Flood Leaves Behind album, which arrives on Friday, June 18 via Renew Records/BMG.
Helm is backed by six musicians for the acoustic “Carry It Alone” performance including What The Flood Leaves Behind producer Josh Kaufman. The video was filmed at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York — a facility her father, late The Band multi-instrumentalist Levon Helm, established. Levon Helm Studios is also where Amy recorded the follow-up to 2018’s This Too Shall Light.
What The Flood Leaves Behind features contributions from Kaufman, Phil Cook (keys, harmonica), Michael Libramento (bass, organ, percussion), Tony Mason (drums), Daniel Littleton (guitar), Stuart Bogie (saxophone), Jordan McLean (trumpet), and her son Lee Collins (congas). Amy found time after tracking her new LP to cover Phish's “Sleep” for JamBase's Cluster Flies compilation.
Amy Helm next takes the stage on Friday at Hamilton Live in Washington D.C. Concerts in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New York follow later this month.
