Amanda Shires recently appeared on Southern California’s 88FIVE Live at Desert 5 Spot performance video series. The singer-songwriter and fiddler performed a song from her new album Take It Like A Man, a John Prine cover and more.
Take It Like A Man arrived on July 29 and the the 88Five Live session premiered two days before the album came out. Shires and her band delivered Take It Like A Man single “Hawk For The Dove.”

Amanda also offered a cover of John Prine’s “Saddle In The Rain,” which she recorded for the 2021 compilation Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows: Songs of John Prine, Vol. 2.. Shires dipped into The Highwomen catalog with “Don’t Call Me.” Additionanly, the singer-songwriter chatted with host Andy Chanley about her new album and more.
